вЂњOne Tree HillвЂќ was inspired by the death of the bandвЂ™s roadie and friend. Even though the Danesmoate sessions were the backbone of the tonality of the record вЂ“ we got a lot of the drums done in there.вЂќДў. вЂњProbably the bulk of the record was done at EdgeвЂ™s house. вЂњThatвЂ™s where songs like вЂMothers of the DisappearedвЂ™ and what ended up as вЂBullet the Blue SkyвЂ™ were born,вЂќ co-producer Daniel Lanois told Hot Press in 2007. Believing Danesmoate to be much more inspiring than a sterile professional facility, the group decided to construct a fully functional studio inside the old walls. One challenge in finding the actual Joshua tree was that we didnвЂ™t know exactly where the tree was located. So during this past Thanksgiving Holiday break we teamed up and headed out into the desert. So much so that when he learned of the location where the photos for their 1987 album, The Joshua Tree, were shot he wanted to visit the site.
